2. Areas of Cooperation Cooperation under this MOU may include, but is not limited to: 2.1 Development of specialized medical capacity and clinical expertise across different areas of specialty with a specific focus on renal transplant services. 2.2 Collaboration in medical and public health research. 2.3 Exchange of knowledge, technology, and best practices. 2.4 Joint activities contributing to bilateral health security and resilience. 2.5 Explore possible collaboration in facilitating access for Bhutanese private patients to tertiary hospitals in Thailand, subject to applicable Thai laws and regulations, including hospitals under the Department of Medical Services and private hospitals. For private hospitals, the Department of Medical Services may coordinate with the Private Hospital Association of Thailand to support direct communication, with service rates determined by the hospitals.

Plan / Activities
1.1 To promote a strategic partnership in strengthening essential medical and public health capacities that
1.2 contribute to strengthening health security in Bhutan.
1.3 To facilitate the exchange of medical personnel, including training, study visits, and specialized skill development.
1.4 To jointly organize activities, training programs, workshops, and initiatives aimed at enhancing specialized medical capacity in accordance with the mandates of the Department of Medical Services and the institutional needs and priorities of the Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital and the National Medical Services of Bhutan.
